Youtube Taking Forever to Upload but Internets Good

I find that a lot of times this is a DNS issue. A webpage hits a DNS server hundreds of times during the load, where every bit a speedtest just measures bandwidth.

I'd suggest setting a static DNS to google or opendns and see if that resolves the issue on 1 PC.

My showtime thought was besides DNS. Try clearing the DNS server enshroud as well as running ipconfg /flushdns on the workstations. Meet if that helps out.

Along those aforementioned lines, attempt browsing the webpage by IP Address instead of by name and see if it'southward whatsoever different.

I actually tripled webpage load times at domicile moving off of Comcast'due south DNS and onto OpenDNS.

I'd bank check DNS offset as suggested, only nosotros had an upshot with our cloud based system being slow. They kept blaming it on us until nosotros used Fiddler to testify information technology was them. It may help in this situation.http://world wide web.telerik.com/fiddler and if that doesn't. Ping Plotter to measure latency, and packet loss. http://www.pingplotter.com/

Initial exam that I but did was to enter a website's ip accost on the browser and information technology is till very deadening...I guess I am non looking at a DNS issue...

What kind of of a firewall/router do y'all have? Information technology could be doing some parcel inspection and content filtering that is slowing downward the delivery. How is your experience when doing FTP or whatever other non port 80 protocol?

Was this postal service helpful? thumb_up thumb_down

Biotech I have a Sonicwall Firewall however no configuration changes have been fabricated to it recently...the issue nosotros are having started yesterday although I guess information technology is possible that the sonicwall is causing the problem. I will connect directly to modem by-passing the Sonicwall

ping plotter shows this screen for nbcnews.com..I run across package loss:

Was this post helpful? thumb_up thumb_down

Yes, especially if you lot accept set your car update definitions or audit http under Gateway AV. If the sonicwall is causing it and then you tin do gradual examination by going to Network > Zones and go along shutting down the services (content filter, av, spyware, ips etc) until you find the one triggering it.

I actually disagree with that exam. Every element on the web page still references domain names and not the ip y'all entered. The ip will go you in that location, but every paradigm and other chemical element still requires DNS resolutions.

Biotech disabling those services on both LAN and WAN Zones did not assistance

Brian I will change the dns server on ane computer to see if that helps

EDIT: Modify the DNS of one computer to eight.eight.8.8 did not help...

This is odd since in our LAN we can access server and network resource just fine..the only ting existence slows is the loading of webpages

pingplotter keeps showing bundle loss at different hops similar to image higher up..i wonder if that is the trouble..hither are the results to cnn.com, more parcel loss' at hops

Was this post helpful? thumb_up thumb_down

RoguePacket

Some hops don't allow ICMP, so it's normal some show 100% loss. All the other ones show 0% loss.

As well when you surf to a website using the IP, it downloads the initial folio only links to all the images and contents referenced on the folio are still using DNS names so that only gets you so far to determine DNS not being the culprit.

Was this post helpful? thumb_up thumb_down

I've had this problem earlier. Are you lot using forwarders inside DNS?

1 found this helpful thumb_up thumb_down

I alter the DNS of one computer to be 8.eight.eight.8 and I nevertheless had issues which is why I do non call up it is DNS related unless that is non a good test?

Was this postal service helpful? thumb_up thumb_down

WilliamBMTA So this hop beliefs is normal? As you can see on this screenshot some hops report percentage loss other than 0/100%

Was this post helpful? thumb_up thumb_down

No forwarders are existence used  David

Is the MTU fix correctly on your gateway device? Have y'all checked for a speed or duplex mismatch?

Was this postal service helpful? thumb_up thumb_down

Have you bypassed the Sonicwall while using eight.8.eight.viii or 4.2.2.1 as the principal DNS server? Also have y'all tried different browsers such as Firefox and Google Chrome?

Was this post helpful? thumb_up thumb_down

I take used http://www.pingtest.net to examination connections, it volition give you a course based on results.  You might also try a pathping at the control line it will give you results similar to pingplotter.

What Al7796 said...bypass sownicwall fifty-fifty though y'all turned off the services device might yet be having processing bug.

I just want to let anybody know that I had a massive network upshot because my DNS servers were forwarded to 4.ii.2.ii which was non resolving for some reason. Because of this websites took 20-30 seconds to load on average. After setting forwarder to 8.8.eight.8 on my DNS the outcome was resolved and everyone was happy.

Hai ITMAN,

I am as well facing issue equally your, using Sonicwall and disabled Content filter merely no result...

Please permit me know what all other features should be off?

Haris

This may be a unlike issue for everyone, but I just figured out my issue was their IPV6 DNS servers timing out. Merely putting in static IPV4 DNS servers didn't resolve the problem. As soon equally I put in Open up DNS's IPV6 servers (I'm sure others would work likewise), web pages loaded at full speed. You lot will see this when you use nslookup to troubleshoot with or without tertiary political party IPV6 DNS servers. My UBEE Spectrum modem/router will not permit me to configure my own DNS settings then I have to update these in the client and I'll take to look effectually for my own router to ready this effect permanently. IPV6 for Open up DNS are
