Remind me – what is hemp?
Hemp is a plant in the cannabis family. However, unlike marijuana, hemp contains no THC (the bit that gets you high) and you'll only find CBD in the leaves – neither of which are in the seeds, which is the part Good Hemp uses to make its award-winning range of products. Experts agree hemp is a plant-based powerhouse – not only does it contain all 20 amino acids, but it's also one of the richest sources of omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, making it one of the most efficient sources of healthy fats for vegans. Moreover, hemp is a great source of fibre, helping digestion and gut health, and hemp plants breathe in four times more carbon dioxide than the same area of trees, giving it serious green credentials.
What's the story behind Good Hemp?
Good Hemp has been producing delicious, nutritious products from one of the world's most environmentally friendly plants on earth since 1998. In fact, when the brand first launched, one of its first products was its hemp seed oil and Jamie Oliver quickly introduced it into his restaurants. Since then, the brand has been at the forefront of plant-based food innovation – in 2012, it created the UK's first hemp milk, which continues to rival other plant-based milks in terms of flavour, nutrition and sustainability. Plant-based milks such as almond milk have recently come under fire (did you know it takes 130 pints of water to produce a single glass of almond milk?), but hemp is helping the planet. From the stalks to the seeds, and flowers to the leaves, every single part of a hemp plant can be used, and as a super strong crop, it doesn't need pesticides to grow, meaning cleaner air, land and water. If that wasn't enough, its roots also help replenish the soil's nutrients to help reduce erosion. Good Hemp products aren't just delicious – there's a great story behind it, too.

What's on offer?
Good Hemp's Seed Milk is its hero product. A source of omega-3, this dairy-free all-rounder works well in your morning smoothie and is the perfect partner to your favourite bowl of cereal or porridge. Unlike many plant-based milks, it's also low in sugar and carbs and is brimming with healthy fats to help you tick all the nutritional boxes. If you're a coffee fiend, Good Hemp's Barista Seed Milk is also worth a try – designed to froth better than the original, it's ideal for flat whites and has been sweetened to cut through the bitterness of coffee, making it ideal for tea, too. We also love the Hemp Seed Hearts, a natural source of protein and fibre which can be sprinkled on everything from soups to salads. These seeds are also used as the source material for Good Hemp's protein powder – great if you're a gym bunny – as well as its cold-pressed hemp seed oil, which we love to drizzle on salads or cook with for healthier roast potatoes. The oil also contains 40% less saturated fat than olive oil.
What does hemp taste like?
Hemp milk is less sugary than dairy or oat milk, and is more similar to a nut milk, ideal for fans of almond milk. This means it also works well in smoothies and cooking. Hemp oil, meanwhile, will fast become your new kitchen staple thanks to its nutty, buttery flavour that's somewhere between sesame and walnut oil. For those who aren't keen on overly sweetened protein powders, Good Hemp's protein is one to try – it's made without flavourings, meaning it gets full marks for versatility, too.
Anything else?
Having grown hemp on their farm in Devon for 20 years, the Good Hemp team know a thing or two about CBD, which is why they recently released a range of CBD oils. Designed for those trying CBD for the first time as well as those looking for a stronger formula, its pure CBD oil is 100% natural, lab tested and free from THC and preservatives. New to CBD? The Good Hemp team recommend starting with five drops of its 250mg oil three times per day, which you can then scale up or down depending on how you're feeling.
So, who is Good Hemp for?
Whether you're looking to mix up your regular plant-based milk or are looking for an easy way to boost your fibre intake, Good Hemp's products come highly recommended. Its protein powder is also perfect if you follow a Paleo diet, as hemp is the plant-based protein with the most complete amino acid profile, meaning you're getting more bang for your protein buck. All Good Hemp products are also free from dairy and gluten, too. In a world where we know we should be eating more plants, it can be tricky to know where to start, but rest assured with Good Hemp you're ticking the eco, nutritional and taste boxes – it's a win-win situation.
